Privacy
RouteRiff is an experimental browser-first travel planning tool.
What the MVP processes
When you build a route, place names are geocoded so they can be shown on a map. The browser may store recent routes and a geocoding cache locally on your device. Text, Markdown and common CSV imports are read locally in the browser by the importer and are not uploaded as files. If you use a supported Google Maps short link, the URL is sent to a restricted RouteRiff serverless resolver that follows only approved Google-host redirects so the full directions URL can be recovered. Do not paste passport numbers, payment details, booking references or other sensitive information.
Product analytics
The MVP records coarse product events such as page view, trip built, play, share, remix and affiliate click. Event metadata is intentionally limited to non-sensitive counters or source labels; the analytics event does not include your itinerary text.
Third parties
Map tiles and geocoding rely on OpenStreetMap-related services. Booking buttons open independent travel providers. Those providers process data under their own privacy policies.
Local storage controls
On the main RouteRiff page, use Clear local data in the footer to remove recent-route history and the local geocoding cache created by RouteRiff in that browser.
Changes
This MVP will evolve. If accounts, cloud-saved trips or media uploads are introduced, this notice should be updated before those features are enabled.
